Halloween around the corner

Okay so Halloween is just around the corner, I know that many people send out Halloween cards but I have never gotten into this tradition. It's a crazy thing but I just can't get into it. I have seen some really cute Halloween cards, and there are some really cute stamps out there... so I thought I would share just a few with you since that is why I created this post in the first place.... To introduce you to some "Fenominal Finds" (I know this is spelt wrong!)

Okay so first of course is the cute witch stamps that Stamping Bella came out with. Please note that I had to "copy" from the website so it isn't the clearest picture of the stamp but it is cute regardless....

This stamp stands about 3 1/4 inches high and is about 1 1/4 inches wide. She is yours for the low price of $6.29... She comes unmounted so you will need an acrylic block of some kind... Stamping bella sells these to for very reasonable. Contact me if you would like to learn more about about a "kit" that you can get her in!

Next... there are such SUPER cute stamps out ther for the holiday, but these ones struck a nerve and made me sing a little song and do a little dance too: They are from INKY ANTICS This is a GREAT place to buy some super cute stamps, and if you like pirates...they have some REALLY cute pirates... too many to put here!

But here are a few of the Halloween images they have! Are they not the cutest halloween guys around? I just love them!
There are so many more but I am going to go and create some cards for now... maybe I will give you some more later today!
Thanks to all my readers!

This was fun

This was fun, I joined a swap challenge... the challenge was to create a Christmas card not using any Christmas Fellas or Bellas. So we had to use a bella stamp that wasn't obviously a Christmas themed stamp. Ha ha
This is what I came up with. I printed on the inside: Regardless of where, or how you spend the season....... Enjoy! I think it is super cute! I used Heat & Stick powder to stamp the snowman and then stuck actual Cancun Sand to him so that he looks like a sand sculpture. I just am dieing to make a snowman out of the sand. I plan do that this coming summer now that my sand building abilities are getting better.

I will have to look in my photos and see if I can find some of the pictures of the sand creations we build. I know where one is... The Shark my son and I build last summer. (July 2006) Here it is...

This picture is not the greatest... The rules are you can only use things you find on the beach. My mother in law just so happen to find this dead fish... so we had to add it to the sharks mouth. I wonder if there is a better picture... let me check. Oh Yes... this is a little better!

This is a great summer past time! I have great tools for it now so my stuff the past summer (2007) turned out so much better!
Thanks for reading all my rambling!

My newest cards...

I have a few new cards that I must share! I have had a really hard time coming up with ideas in the past few months... so here are a few... I am proud of.

First... this is an invite to my October 20th EXTRAVAGANZA, it is going to be great fun... I am sending these out to a few people but... ANYONE WHO WANTS TO COME CAN!

October 20th from 10-4 at my house, bring your supplies and we will crop, stamp and make fun things all day long. Make & Takes and prizes!

Second, this is a card I made for my best friend's daughter: she is turning 16, I think I could have probably come up with a better 16th birthday card, but it's too late, they leave to Disneyland tomorrow and I am having my friend give it to them there.

It is actually better in real life... This is chipboard block with the squares popped out, with the images stamped on paper behind it. Then I added glitter to things like the butterfly, heart, and flower... but you can't see it in this scanned image.
And Lastly, I did this one for the little boy of the same friend whose birthday is the 19th of October, they will still be in Disneyland! This one is great fun cause the little truck moves when you tilt the card.
So anyway, I thought I would share these little ones... I have one more that I can put on here for those who care... Okay since you asked! I will add one more image to this post...

This one is from the New IN COLOR colors that Stampin' Up has this year, Groovy Guava, and Purly Pomegranate. I used the chipboard Blossoms and Basics for the little flower, and I used Lumiere to color the chipboard and then I used a "polished stone" technique to add extra color. I glittered up the little petals and then stuck them on and there is a "jewel" in the center.

As always you can write if you ever have questions on how to duplicate the cards I post on here! LauraASimp@comcast.net

I never win!!

Okay so on Stamping Bella's website she had a blog and wanted people to ring in on their funniest experience that has to do with stamps/scrap-booking... I loved this other woman's post (Rosy) but I thought I would just give a story... I thought I would share it with you gals on here too... If the women from the party happen to read this blog... you know who you are... just know that you helped me win a prize from Stamping Bella.

Okay so I don’t know HOW or WHY I would even type anything… Rosybella has a pretty gosh darn story here, and she has her friend’s blog that backs it up and is exactly the way she discribes it. LOVE IT!
But Oh well, thought I would throw my hat into the pile and see if FOR ONCE in my life I win…. ha ha ha
Okay so I am a demonstrator (like most of us) and I had this hostess party with a bunch of older ladies. I get like “totally” dressed up for these things… (at least for me being a stay at home mom, this is an opportunity to put on some clothes that aren’t just jeans and T.) So anyway I get all dressed up, and go to this workshop. Now, I am really trying to look and be way professional… Not just some lady that comes over and gets crafty with these ladies but I wanted them to get that this was my business…
So on with the story! I get to this woman’s house (this was the first time I had done a show with any of these women) and there are crosses EVERYWHERE! Like major religious woman so I am really pressured to stay on my very best behavior, make sure I don’t blurt out any foul language and everything. Best behavior Laura is what I keep thinking.
So the party starts… and the hostess pours red wine for those who want it… I of course don’t accept cause I get mouthy when I drink and didn’t want to push my limits…
So I start my demo… and as I get into it it’s time to ink up some stamps… so I tell the ladies “OKAY SO YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR THINGY REALLY WET” (talking about the stamp pad) and then you take your stamp and get it “ALL JUICY”. “JUST SMOOOOSH IT AROUND ON THE PAD AND GET IT GOOD AND COVERED.”by this time the ladies are red in the face laughing so hard at me… I am thinking what in the heck did I miss….????
So then I said and then you gently tap this down … Now remember you don’t have to press hard to make it work good. In fact as long as it is good an juicy it works better.
Oh my gosh laughing is just pouring out of these ladies! I looked at the one woman next to me and said “What did I miss?” and she said you sound like you are instructing us on how to have SEX or something… “Get it all Wet and Juicy, and Tap here Gently!” Oh my gosh, my face must have gone pale white, cause the woman accross from me at the table spit out her wine all over me, my project and my “nice” clothes…
I was sooooo UTTERLY EMBARASSED that I couldn’t stand it.
To top things off, the next month I went to the party again, and when I got there the one older lady said ‘Our Sex Coach Is Here!”… Oh man I was much more careful with my choice of words this time but I still said a few things that made them laugh … the difference was this time I was laughing along with them. =D
Thanks for reading…Good luck to all the ladies that play along with the game here!Laura

October!

Well, It is feeling more and more like October right now. We have leaves that are falling to the ground, and when the sun goes down boy does it cool down. I thought today would be a great day to get some Halloween projects done. I don't send out Halloween cards, but I might do something that is along the lines of a "candy" pouch or something..... I will let you know what I come up with.

In the mean time ...
This weekend is NATIONAL CARD MAKING DAY... I have a few friends coming over to make some fun cards and create out of paper some fun things... I think we might do one birthday card cause those are always needed, and I thought I would use some Bellas to introduce my friends and family to the Bella line. LOVE THEM.

I guess it is time for me to create some Octoberish stamps myself. Images can be purchased at 1.00 a pop! So if you ever see any of my personal creations let me know at LauraASimp@comcast.net
